'Downton Abbey' Coming To An End After Season 6
If you are a fun of ‘Downtown Abbey’ I have bad news, the show is coming to end, I known I know it’s so sad.
On Thursday, the producers of Downtown revealed that the show will be coming to an end once they are done with production of its sixth season. That said you have something to smile about Downtown Abby fans as the producers did not rule out a movie.
"There's so many different explanations" for the decision, said one of the producers of the show during a conference call with reporters. "I think our feeling is that it's good to quit while you're ahead."
The sole writer of Downtown Abby, Julian Fellowes, told Reuters news agency that he is almost close to finishing up with writing the sixth season of the drama about an aristocratic household in British.
"Obviously, I am sad," Fellowes said during the phone conversation with Reuters. "It has been an extraordinary part of my life and career."
Fellowes also went on to state that people should expect a boon for the cast especially the younger actors of the show.
"They've got a tremendous launch pad now from 'Downton,'" he said. "You can't stay on the launching pad forever. You've got to fly. I think that is what they feel and I wish them well."
With regards to Neame denying reports that the show was coming into an end so as to ensure that Fellowes does not go somewhere else, he said that, "It really isn't the case that Julian has said, 'I want out, I want to do other things' and everyone else has been forced."
