NBC’s ‘Constantine’ Considering Syfy Move for Season 2?
NBC aired the final episode of Constantine this past Friday. This definitely is not welcoming news for fans of the DC Drama given that the network excluded it among the multiple renewals. Not to worry though as reports indicate that NBC is looking at green lighting the DC drama for a second season to Syfy and giving the creators of the show more freedom.
Claims by CineLinx indicate that the option of moving Constantine for its second season is being considered by higher-ups. If the report is true then we can expect Constantine to drop its favorable angle which basically is a middle-of-the-road procedure which involves playing up supernatural horror as well re-titling to the comic moniker “Hellblazer.”
Despite Grimm constantly proving to be a success for NBC on Friday nights, Constantine is yet to reach the high expectations which were initially set out by NBC. With all that said moving Constantine to SyFy without a doubt brings with it a fair amount of risk and SyFy itself has found itself in a position where there need sized hits which are more appropriate and Constantine offers the perfect fit.
The show’s reruns have been performing really well making it a great idea to take up. The question on whether or not NBC will take up this step and put it into motion is yet to be known and who knows sites such as Netflix might just end up taking up the whole episode and that will definitely not surprise me as it’s something that they are doing a lot of late.
With the final episode expected to be screened this Friday one can only wait and see whether or not it will pull the curtain on it.
